As an alumni of the University of Rochester Marriage and Family Therapy Training Program, I have over two decades of experience treating individuals, couples and families throughout all stages of the life cycle. I hold a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and am licensed in New York State. I have also been intensively trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and serve on the DBT consultation team for patients and providers in the greater Rochester area. I am an approved supervisor by the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapists (AAMFT) and I am also a member of the National Association of Psychosocial Obstetricians and Gynecologists (NASPOG).

Having worked in a medical center and various medical offices during the earlier stages in my career, I often integrate physical health concerns and collaboration with health care providers into the treatment I provide.Thus, I have excellent working relationships with a variety of professionals in the community including, pediatricians, primary care providers, collaborative mediators, obstetricians and gynecologists, psychiatrists and of course, my peer mental health providers among others. These relationships allow me to have meaningful dialogues with the providers on your healthcare team to advance the quality of care you receive.

As a member of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts (AFCC) I am a court-involved therapist (CIT), working primarily with Monroe County Family Courts to provide Reunification Therapy for families struggling to move forward following divorce or separation.

My therapy style is warm, supportive and insight-oriented. I am highly interactive, providing thoughtful feedback and problem solving skills when appropriate. At times I may consider it helpful to invite family members into treatment to further your progress. My background and preferred philosophy is in family systems, thus, I tend to conceptualize problems, strengths and treatment in relation to your emotional connection with your family members and close supports.
